Took early retirement so I could travel and ride as much as possible.Last year my rides included 2 weeks camping in Colorado and Utah, a week at the Oshkosh air expo and a month traveling around the western states. During the winter a couple of friends and I backpacked our way across Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam where we revisited places we were at during our misspent youth.

Like minded people (I think this is the right site) who are willing to share information about their favorite local rides and camping and lodging information if I happen to be in your neck of the wood. Also meeting women who ride their own or want to ride with me would be nice. Sorry, no men passengers, it just looks too gay.

Traveling, especially to third world shit holes not yet corrupted by American culture. Motorcycling duh! My undergraduate degree is in history so that's a biggie. I've always been a decent athlete, not great, but still am a good skier. I also enjoy camping and hiking.

Rock and Roll primarily, but also enjoy classical and most country except for the real twangy crap. Don't particularly care for rap and hip-hop, but do admit a certain enjoyment watching the gangstas kill each other.

I Like most movies and am willing to suffer through a chick flick occasionally. Prefer comedy and adventure films. My theory is that I have enough problems of my own, I don't need to pay to see someone else's.

Mostly watch the shows that bore most folks. History Channel, A&E, Discovery on the satellite. Broadcast shows I like include Nova on PBS, sports and news.

|
I read an average of 2-3 books a week so I'm on a first name basis at the public library. Certain authors I like include the late Kurt Vonnegut, Leon Uris, Fredrick Forsythe and Christopher Buckley to name a few.

My current main ride is a GL1800 Goldwing. Additionally I own a 1982 Honda V45 Magna which I keep because it's worth more to me than what I could get for selling it.

I've owned something with two wheels and a motor since I was 11 and bought a minibike with savings from my paper route. I've had numerous Hondas including a 125, 350, 550, 750, V45 Magna, GL1200 Goldwing and my current wing. While in the Marines I owned a Montgomery Wards Riverside Mojave 125 and a Norton Commando. There's been a couple of Yamahas, a Moto Guzzi and a Harley Sportster.
