To tell you all little bit about me, I am a 43 year old male that has recently retired from a 23 year career in the U S Navy. I do miss some things from my naval career, and to be honest, I do miss the ship pulling out. That seems to me to be one of the fondest memories. Just the atmosphere around the ship as we were getting ready to go to sea, but NOTHING can take the place of when the ship pulls back in from a long deployment. The Sailors all running around getting ready to step back on the soil they were sent overseas to protect. To step down and hold their loved ones, or see that beautiful child that was born while they were gone. Unless you have been there and done a deployment, you just can’t appreciate it like I can. The Navy has been a good life but as with anything, it has its moments.
I enjoy riding and working on my bikes. It gives me a release and a chance to show what I can do if I apply myself. But most of all, it says a bit about who I am. In my opinion, a bike more so than a car, gives the owner a chance to express them self. Yes, it’s a smaller canvas to paint yourself on, but at the same time, it appears that people can do so much more with a bike to tell about themselves then they can with a car, yes, you can change the engine, the paint some body parts and wheels on a car, but with a bike, you can change the whole appearance to the point that no one really knows what it is or was, and I like that spirit of the building phase of the bike. I guess is some ways the bike is just an extension of your soul. I would rather see a person start with some old 1970’s or 80’s bike and just dig in to it and change it to what they want then to stoke a check and have someone build it for them. I know that I don’t know everything about the bikes, and I never will claim too, but I learn as I go, and if I screw up, so be it, I just have to start again from that point in the build. But no matter what, when its all said and done, you have to respect that the bike was done with my two hands, it wasn’t bought like so many do. There is more pride and respect in my eyes when that is done.
You can pay the Tuttles, James, Lane or who ever to build your bike, when it’s all said and done, all you have is your name on the title of someone else’s bike. But is it really yours? Hell, that part of the enjoyment of having the bike. To make it your own. If no one else likes it, so be it, its not their bike, its yours, and everyone has to respect that. You make your bike yours!
I am married to a wonderful woman and could ask for nothing better. We do have a lot that we share together, and yes, by some people we have been told that we were meant to be together…. “Depending on how you ask them and who they are, they may give you a different point on that” but as most of you know about me. I really don’t care if you like me or not, if you respect me or not, it’s my life, she is my wife and that is all that maters. And if you have to go to someone else to ask about me instead of confronting me, then I guess you are the one with the problem.
I believe that everyone deserves respect until the moment they prove that they can’t respect themselves. From what I have seen in my life, I feel that the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Most of today’s society is all about “What’s in it for me!” instead of what can I do to make this a better world. It sickens me to see people who are physically able to work and make their mark in the world but would rather live off welfare and food stamps at honest hard working people’s expense and not care about it. My old man told me before he left this shitty world, “I don’t care what you do, as long as it’s honest and true.” And I have always tried to live up to that. I don’t ask for handouts, and I don’t expect anyone to pay my way. But there are people that just don’t seem to get it that it take all to make the world to go around.
One other thing that bothers me about today’s society is people that cant leave well enough alone. If you are upset that someone chooses to be with one person over you, or to live their life over the fact of “YOUR WAY”; GET OVER IT! The big thing that makes this country different over every other country is that everyone has the right to choose what he or she does, where they go and whom they are with. If you are not their choice, then let it go! Don’t hang on to that and try to hold on to subtle memories “PICTURES PLASTARD ALL OVER THE NET” just to try and piss someone off or make their partner leave them. Go find someone new that will make you just as happy. Yes, Jim, you know I am talking about you!!!! GET OVER IT! Please don’t make me embarrass you. Just go away! YOU WILL LOSE!
If you find my writing offensive, then all you have to do is just go visit someone else’s site and not come back. I speak what is on my mind and how I feel and if that doesn’t meet your approval then I don’t know what to say. I am not PC by any means and never claimed to be. If you want someone to sugar coat something, don’t come to me.

I have a few bikes. My main ride is a custom that I build with some help from a few friends, not going to tell the make because not much of it comes from the factory any more. I will say that it was not done by a shop, so it’s not perfect. As I said earlier, I don’t claim to be anything like Jessie, the Tuttles or Billy Lane; I am just a regular guy that is getting pretty handy in the shop every time I pick up a wrench, torch or welder. I am proud of what I have done and if you don’t like it, I really don’t know what to tell you. But what ever you do, don’t post trash about it on my site. That will just show the ignorance of how people can be.
I also have a 19973 CB 500 that I got as a basket case and it’s close to 60% done. I just wish I had more time and money to work on it and get it in a better condition. I am going very old school with it, it has 8 over forks, and it’s been dropped in the back with a hard tail and suicide shift. Maybe one day I will have the time and money to get her done and back on the road, but as for now, she just sits there and I dream about what I want to do with her. The funny thing about bikes like this are the longer they sit in your shop, the more you change your mind on what you want to do to the machine. The basic design of this bike has been changed so many times; I can’t even remember what I originally wanted to do to her. Needless to say, with me recently moving to Georgia and getting involved with my new job, the shop isn’t even put together for me to even start working on the bike. But with things stabilizing here a bit, I hope to get the shop ready so that I can start working on the bikes again this fall/ winter.
I also have an 81 GS650 that is stripped down to the frame and I am still thinking about what I really want to do with her, This bike was given to me by a good friend after someone borrowed the bike, high sided it and then the guy didn’t want to pay for the repairs of the bike. Granted, it was an older bike and in fair shape, but if you wreck a friends bike, you should at least have the ability to say, “Hey, sorry about the bike, I will get it fixed for you.” This one, I want to chop as well, but want to go with a low/ long pro street type frame. I will use most of the original frame to build this bike, so I am looking forward to building this bike up as well. Right now, I have stripped the frame to bare metal then put a very heavy coat of primer on her to keep the elements from rotting her away while I finish the 73 and figure out what I want to do with this one.
If you like my ideas and thoughts on the bikes, please check my pictures every now and then and look at what I have been doing, Please feel free to leave feed back, I do like hearing what people think and have to say about the bikes, but if you criticize, be constructive, “Your bike sucks!” doesn’t do anything for anyone but show your ignorance!
