Paranoia
Have I gone completely mad with paranoia? 1:30 pm, working at home and someone knocks at the door. My dogs get hysterical but I say nothing hoping they will go away. They knock again and I silently get out the .38 before asking who it is, from behind a wall. The dogs continue to bark. “Meals on Wheels” is the man’s reply and in a split second I have analyzed all my neighbors and decided none that I know of get service. “No one here gets Meals” I shout out from behind my added walls of protection. He gives out my address and I reiterate that I do not get that service and then, he leaves. How in the hell did I come to a place in this world where I can not even trust to answer my doors to a “Meals on Wheels” guy anymore? Or is it that the world really has gone that insane and my response is totally rational given that insanity?

Definitely a rational reaction in todays world. With all the home invasions in my area I think I would have shot first then asked who are you. About the only people I trust anymore are bikers.Besides, how stupid did he think you were?? If he's standing outside your door he knows your address That means nothing. Smart choice on your part.
