Expenses
Hello to all of your great biker buds. I am here in afghanistan and I have to tell you that I am so sick of the money wasted here. I cant tell you how much money is pissed away on the contractors or civilians here, but when my HUMMV breacks down I have to jump thru hoops here and have all kids of paperwork to get the parts, then wait for the civilians to approve the repair, and order the parts. Do not get me wrong, I have some good friends here that are civies, but this process is making it so hard to do my job, Mentor the Afghan National Police, but KBR get leased vehicles to drive, and not cheap ones, I see Lexxus SUVs here that run 1200 to 1500 per month to lease, What is wrong with this picture.

Hey bounty
I worked for KBR for 14 months, driving convoy and working on base in Iraq, i hear what your saying. But its the same on both sides of the fence so to speak, the ppl actually doing the work is screwed it seems, we drove trucks without uparmour, trucks with all kinds of problems out on convoy while the people in the office drove $40,000 SUV's around base just to go from their office to the DFAC or MWR building when as you know there are buses there that takes everyone around the base to where ever they need to go, money being waisted at a high rate of speed. It was hard for us to get parts for our trucks so we could do our jobs also, but let the air conditioner go out on one of the SUV's and they were doing whatever it took to get the parts. Take care and stay safe. Thanks for doing what you do.

Hello Tacman, Well my friend I have seen so much waste and abuse and when you say anything the KBR folks or blackwater guys get pissed and wont offer any help. I hate to say this be when I went int o the Marine Corps in 1981 it has changed in so many ways, the Army has sold itself to the civilians and most only do what they need and nothing more, There are some who wark hard to take care of the troops but they do not last long. Now that 101st has arrived in BAF they have taken all the vehicle parts and make you do 6 forms, two to three signatures and maybe you get your stuff. But they state dont get excited until your 31 days without. They have started treating things like a CONUS operation, man it is killing my time table and I hate to beg other units for assistance, and they are too feeling this course of action.

Take care and be safe!
