Cancer is such a terrifying word, and its not particular in who it chooses, it has No barriers.
Here am I, healthy one week, just embarking on my 49th birthday when I learn that I have cancer
from first finding a lump, to having it confirmed was less than 3 days.... my whole world turned upside down. 9 days after having it confirmed I was in a hospital in Melbourne undergoing surgery to remove a 4" tumor which weighed 102 grams.
The surgeon said she got it all, for which i am very relieved, but now i am waiting to have 7 weeks of intensive radiation therapy which will take me from my home for those 7 weeks.
My hubby and I have always supported the Cancer Foundation by going on their poker runs, so i urge everyone of u whether u b male or female to do your checks, YES men can get it also.
In Australia alone 13,000 women and 100 men get breast cancer, and 3,000 ppl in my state of Victoria every year. So do the check, support the foundation, take part in the poker runs to help raise vital support and funds for this wonderful organization.
I am a SURVIVIOR and a FIGHTER , AND I WILL FIGHT THIS!!!
I would also like to thank Pirate for his support, thanks mate and my thanks go to all of you who sent me birthday wishes.
