Harley-Davidson sponsors inaugural Fresh Coast Basketball Classic
Posted On: 10/25/2007 16:58:45

MILWAUKEE (October 24, 2007) - Harley-Davidson Motor Company will serve as
the Premiere Sponsor of the Inaugural Fresh Coast Basketball Classic.  The
Classic will bring four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) to
Milwaukee Nov. 23 and 24 for a basketball tournament held at the Midwest
Airlines Center.

Participating schools in the Classic include Dillard University from New
Orleans, LA, Langston University from Langston, OK, Lane College from Jackson,
TN and Central State University from Wilberforce, OH.

The event will feature a college and career fair where students can visit
with representatives from the participating schools as well as local colleges
and universities at no charge.  Representatives from Harley-Davidson will be
on-hand to discuss the Harley-Davidson Foundation Minority Scholarship program
and career opportunities with students.  The fair is open to the public each day
from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

“As a company, we’ve long supported programs that inspire young people to
pursue their education options,” said Harold Scott, Harley-Davidson, Vice
President Human Resources.  “The Classic will do that in a fun way, as area
young people and their families will have an opportunity to receive college
information and exposure to the students, athletes and alumni of four great
institutions.”

In addition to sponsorship and educational support, Harley-Davidson will
extend an invitation for attendees to experience the Harley-Davidson brand by
providing product information and displays.

The weekend will also feature a comedy show, gospel event, coach’s clinics
and performances by the Central State University Band.

Organizers believe the Classic will present the city of Milwaukee to new and
diverse visitors and will duplicate the success of HBCU sporting events taking
place in Indiana, Kentucky and other southern states.  The Classic has gotten
great support from the Milwaukee business community.

“Harley-Davidson’s leadership has been key to making the Fresh Coast Classic
a success,” said Synovia Youngblood, Chief Executive Officer of the Classic.
“Milwaukee is incredibly fortunate to have a company like Harley-Davidson
championing this effort.”
